Most common bearing introduction

Sizes is not the only condition to consider while choosing bearing, rotating speed, load and usage also need take into account. The following article will introduce several kinds of bearings.

Deep groove ball bearing

One of the most common bearing, usually used for afford radial load, also can bear bidirectional axial load, suitable for high rotating speed, low noise, low vibrate situation, the first number of this bearings usually be “6”.

Angular contact ball bearing

Can endure axial load and radial load at the same time, the word “angular” means the rolling element have contact angle with inner and outer ring. There are four types of contact angle, which are 15°,25°,30°,40°, when the contact angle is bigger, it can endure bigger axial load, when the contact angle is smaller, can used for higher rotating speed, the first number of this bearings usually be “7”.

Thrust ball bearing

Can endure unidirectional or bidirectional axial load, but can’t afford radial load, single direction thrust ball bearing is made from two race way and one retaining ring with rolling element. Double direction thrust ball bearing is made from three race way and two retaining rings.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

There’s line contact between the rolling element and race way, so it’ll have bigger load ability, usually used for endure radial load, besides, the inner ring and outer ring of this bearing have separable structure.

Needle bearing

Same as cylindrical roller bearings, suitable for endure radial load, but the rolling element inside is acicular, which length is 3~10 times to diameter.

Thrust roller bearing

Same as thrust ball bearing, can only afford axial load, the property of high rigidity make it can afford higher load, the single row structure can only afford single-way axial load, but double row structure can afford double-way axial load.
